Pick one workflow with a single owner. Not a department-wide transformation. One workflow, one owner, one measure of success. The proof point from that workflow is what gets you buy-in to expand.

Build with the team, not for them. The first AI workflow should be built in front of the people who will use it, with enough explanation that they understand what it's doing. This is the difference between adoption that lasts and adoption that evaporates the moment the consultant leaves.

Name the executive sponsor explicitly. Not "leadership supports this initiative." A specific person who will ask about results and who has budget authority. Without that, the pilot dies when anyone pushes back.

The Thing People Miss

The strategy deck is the failure mode.

Organizations buy strategy documents instead of doing the actual work. They commission a roadmap, present it to the board, and call it progress. The roadmap has no workflow in it. No owner. No test.
